This Valentine's Day, the London Philharmonic Orchestra in association with Yamaha proudly present a special Valentine’s Day Concert at the Royal Festival Hall, Southbank Centre, to showcase the outstanding classical piano talent of Dominic Piers Smith.
On Saturday February 14th, discerning music lovers attending the Royal Festival Hall will have the opportunity to hear this remarkable young pianist-turned-Formula-One-racing-car-designer who hopes at last to realize his dream and put his professional music career in the fast lane after winning Yamaha's acclaimed Pianists Competition for Outstanding Amateurs in 2007.
On the night, he'll perform Rachmaninov's hailed Piano Concerto No.2 with the world-class London Philharmonic Orchestra. Conducted by Eivind Gullberg Jensen, the company will also perform Wagner's Prelude and Liebestod from Tristan und Isolde and Dvořák’s Symphony No.9 from the New World.
Dominic's debut album 'The Power of Dreaming' will go on sale this coming Valentine's Day 2009, with the CD made available to buy on the night, in the foyer of the Royal Festival Hall. Featuring his solo recordings of the works by Frédéric Chopin and Franz List, the CD features the sound of the very same Yamaha concert grand Dominic will use on the night.
Doors open at 7.00pm, with the concert beginning at 7.30pm and tickets are priced from £12.50. Further information is available from Southbank Centre's Ticket Office on 0871 663 2500 or by visiting www.southbankcentre.co.uk
