Please join us on Thursday 12th January 2012 at 1pm at our Wardour Street store to hear pianist Elmar Gasanov (RCM) in recital.

Presented in association with Yamaha pianos, these recitals provide a wonderful opportunity for highly gifted young artists to perform at a superb venue as well as offering an insight into the extraordinary wealth of talent being nurtured in our conservatoires. And there are few better opportunities to hear Yamaha’s stunning handcrafted Premium Pianos played at concert level in the UK.

  • Chopin: Scherzo No. 3 in C# Minor, Opus 39
  • Schubert: Impromptu No. 1 in F Minor, Opus 142
  • Liszt: Sonata in B Minor
 
The Artist:
 
Elmar Gasanov - (Piano): was born on 18 April 1983. In 1990, he began his musical education at the Music School in Sevastopol, studying with T Kim. By 2001, he had gained entrance to the Central Music School of the Tchaikovsky State Conservatory of Moscow under the tutelage of Liudmila Roshina with whom he continued his studies after enrolling at the Moscow Conservatoire in 2003. Elmar is currently studying with Vanessa Latarche at the Royal College of Music on a full scholarship from the Noswad Charity.
 
Elmar has been awarded many prizes in major piano competitions including the Highest Prize in the International Prokofiev Competition in 1999 and Third Prize in the V. Gorovitz International Competition of Young Pianists. In 2006, he was a winner of the Liszt-Bartok Piano Competition in Hungary. He received Second Prize in the Hamamatsu International Piano Competition 2009 in Japan, and Third Prize in the Isang Yun Piano Competition 2010 in Korea.
 
He has taken part in music festivals in France and Germany, and has made concert tours throughout Europe including Hungary, Turkey, Russia, Ukraine, Germany, France, Holland, Slovakia and Austria. He has performed as a soloist with orchestras in Hungary, Russia, Ukraine, Germany and Slovakia.

This performance is free of charge and will take place in the Recital Room of Yamaha Artist Services Europe (London), situated within the historic Piano Hall at Chappell of Bond Street’s West End store. 
 
Final admittance to each recital is 12.55pm.
