YEV-104 Electric Violin
Featuring stunning tone matched only by its looks and playablity, the four-string YEV-104 Electric Violin benefits from our advanced wood treatment and sound technologies.
Perfect for home practice, studio recording and live performance, it's an instrument that allows violinists to explore and enjoy genres beyond the classics.
Elegant Design With A Familiar Feel
The Möbius strip-like design looks stunning on stage - but also provides a familiar form for violinists making for a comfortable transition from acoustic to electric.
The nut height, bridge height and lower edge share the same relative dimensions with our traditional violins, making the YEV-104 instantly comfortable (and allows you to use your favourite chin and shoulder rests).
Crafted From Maple, Mahogany, Spruce & Walnut
We've crafted the YEV-104's 5-layer central body from hand-selected maple, mahogany and spruce woods - resulting in superb response and a natural tone.
We've created a 5-layer oil-finished walnut frame which gives the perfect balance between flexibility and strength - in a design that is not only striking, but also contributes to the YEV-104's natural resonance.
High Quality Pickup
Our flagship Silent Violin, the SV-250, features a specially-designed high output passive bridge pickup which exceeded expectations. We've used the same type of pickup for the YEV-104 - which on the new electric violin, effectively picks up the sound of the entire instrument, capturing the violin's response and all the expression and bowing nuances from the violinist.
Volume Control Bypass Switch
The built-in volume control is useful when practicing at home, giving you control over the sound. But on stage and in the recording studio, the engineer will usually want the strongest signal possible from your instrument. The bypass switch routes the raw signal from the pickup directly to the YEV-104's output instead of routing it through the instrument’s volume control. This delivers the violin’s full sonic potential, with rich lows and punchy impact to the tone - ideal for desk-based or post-production processing.
THR5A Acoustic Amplifier
THR5A is optimized for use with electric-acoustic guitars, Silent Guitars and electric violins. Utilising advanced modeling technologies developed by Yamaha, THR5A offers simulations of classic tube condenser and dynamic mics combined with studio-grade effects to create recording-studio tone direct from your guitar and wherever you are.
VCM Amp Models
Developed by a team of guitarists in search of the ultimate tone, THR delivers the sound that you want and the feeling that you need. Effects that enhance and complement your playing combine with room-filling reverbs and delays to push your playing to new levels. And thanks to THR's unique design and focus, stadium-filling volume isn't a pre-requisite - everything about this amp is designed to fit the way you play, right down to the need to keep it quiet sometimes. With tone and feel like this, you'll appreciate the ability to keep playing all night…
THR5A offers four acoustic mic simulations and one clean amp modeling for electric guitar:
- EG CLN
Most of THR's effects feature VCM effects processors. Based on the technology used in Yamaha's professional audio mixers, VCM effects give unsurpassed realism and quality.
VCM (Virtual Circuitry Modeling)
VCM effects are capable of capturing subtleties that simple digital simulations cannot even approach, going beyond simple simulation and delivering the truly musical performance that makes classic analog gear invaluable even in today's digital production environment.
