Featuring stunning tone matched only by its looks and playablity, the four-string YEV-105 Electric Violin benefits from our advanced wood treatment and sound technologies.
Perfect for home practice, studio recording and live performance, it's an instrument that allows violinists to explore and enjoy genres beyond the classics.
Elegant Design With A Familiar Feel
The Möbius strip-like design looks stunning on stage - but also provides a familiar form for violinists making for a comfortable transition from acoustic to electric.
The nut height, bridge height and lower edge share the same relative dimensions with our traditional violins, making the YEV-105 instantly comfortable (and allows you to use your favourite chin and shoulder rests).
Crafted From Maple, Mahogany, Spruce & Walnut
We've crafted the YEV-105's 5-layer central body from hand-selected maple, mahogany and spruce woods - resulting in superb response and a natural tone.
We've created a 5-layer oil-finished walnut frame which gives the perfect balance between flexibility and strength - in a design that is not only striking, but also contributes to the YEV-105's natural resonance.
High Quality Pickup
Our flagship Silent Violin, the SV-250, features a specially-designed high output passive bridge pickup which exceeded expectations. We've used the same type of pickup for the YEV-105 - which on the new electric violin, effectively picks up the sound of the entire instrument, capturing the violin's response and all the expression and bowing nuances from the violinist.
Volume Control Bypass Switch
The built-in volume control is useful when practicing at home, giving you control over the sound. But on stage and in the recording studio, the engineer will usually want the strongest signal possible from your instrument. The bypass switch routes the raw signal from the pickup directly to the YEV-105's output instead of routing it through the instrument’s volume control. This delivers the violin’s full sonic potential, with rich lows and punchy impact to the tone - ideal for desk-based or post-production processing.

Questions & Answers
Question: How do the YEV Series models compare with the SV250 and SV255 Silent Violins?
The YEV Series has been designed to offer a straightforward connection for use on stage with a powerful tone when amplified. It's ideal for rock performance and is aesthetically stunning.
The SV-250/SV-255 models offer a far more nuanced and delicate tone, extremely faithful to the violinist's performance (but it can sound more powerful than the YEV models if wanted). This makes the SV-250/SV-255 a far more versatile violin, more than capable when used in genres ranging from classical to Jazz, Country and rock and more.
Additionally, the SV-250/SV-255 features a second pickup - and you have the ability to choose one or the other, or to blend the two tones.
The SV-250/SV-255 is used with a control box which contains a high-quality pre-amp and which offers the following:
- Main-output volume control
- Treble control
- Bass control
- Headphone output with independant volume control
- Professional-grade XLR balanced output with pad option (-26dB)
- Line output
- Option of either mains power (DC) or battery power
- Ground-lift switch
If budget allows, the SV-250/SV-255 is the ideal choice for any violinist, offering complete control over tone and professional connections.
