About the artist:

Pianist Oxana Shevchenko was born in Kazakhstan and graduated from the Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory, where she studied with Elena Kuznetsova. Oxana is currently studying with Dmitry Alexeev for a Masters in Performance at the Royal College of Music, supported by the Queen Elizabeth Scholarship Trust.

Oxana has won First Prize in several competitions, including the Scottish International Piano Competition, the Sheepdrove Intercollegiate Piano Competition, the International Balys Dvarionas Competition, and the International Music Critic Prize at the Ferruccio Busoni International Piano Competition.

In 2011 Oxana worked with Delphian Records to release her debut recording that included works by Shostakovich, Mozart and Ravel: The CD was well received by the critics - “This is the most exciting debut disc to come my way for some time… I look forward eagerly to her future releases” Gramophone (Editor’s Choice), April 2011. Recent performances include recitals in the UK, Germany, Italy, Spain, Denmark, Russia, China and debuts with orchestras including the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra.
