An Evening of Jazz – Thursday 27th November 2014 – at Yamaha Music London
Yamaha Music London and Oxford University Press are delighted to present An Evening of Jazz featuring renowned pianist/composer Nikki Iles to mark the publication of her recent four volume jazz piano series and the launch of a new series for piano and violin.
Over the last few years, Bedfordshire-born Nikki Iles has progressed into the front rank of British jazz musicians. Founder member of the Creative Jazz Orchestra, she has played with established musicians such as Kenny Wheeler, Art Farmer, Julian Argüelles, Norma Winstone, and Tina May. A committed jazz educator, she is senior lecturer at Middlesex University, visiting professor at the Guildhall school and the Royal Academy in London, and Jazz Advisor to the ABRSM.
Following the recital at 6:30, there will be an opportunity for an informal Q&A session with Nikki, and the purchase of signed copies of her music books.
