Flugelhorn - Flugel Horn - Fluegelhorn - Flügelhorn
Whatever way you choose to spell it, the flugelhorn is known for its darker, mellower sound often described as bridging the gap between the trumpet and french horn and used in brass bands to fill in between the sounds of a cornet and tenor horn. The fulgelhorn has also become a featured instrument with jazz soloists, more notably by players like Chuck Mangione and Bobby Shew.
Here at Yamaha Music London we sell a range of Yamaha flugelhorns. From the YFH-436G - an intermediate model in the traditional German style with rotary valves - to the popular YFH-631G which is also available in a silver-plated finish, the YFH-631GS. The Custom Z Series flugelhorns have a smaller bore with newly-designed leadpipes and slide triggers.
