The Dubel prize for emerging artists

For Yamaha, music and art share a deep connection. Closely intertwined, they both unlock emotions and enhance the visual experience. Many  artists draw inspiration from the music they listen to and there have been many great collaborations between painters and artists such as Andy Warhol the artist behind iconic album covers for the Rolling Stones and Aretha Franklin.

Yamaha Music London is proud to be the sound partner for The Dubel Prize renowned for recognizing and supporting emerging British artists. We share the same vision of nurturing creativity and artistic expression through our successful Music Ambassadorship programme which supports new and emerging London-based musicians and artists. We know how special it is to be able to support an artist just starting out on their journey!

The Dubel Prize is going to be awarded to an emerging British artist and will bring the beauty of art to a larger audience who may not have been exposed to the somewhat rarified culture of the art world before.  The shortlist of twelve finalists will be announced at the historic Royal Exchange, London’s luxury retail and dining destination on 26 th August. Each of the twelve artists on the shortlist will have their work on display in prestigious locations across London, including the legendary piano hall in our beautiful Grade II listed Yamaha Music London store. The opportunity to visit and enjoy the art will be open to everyone and free to see! Each month there will be artwork on display from one of the twelve finalists and maybe the chance to meet the artist in person!

These selected artists will enjoy an array of benefits, including a dedicated event, a year-long contract with Red Eight Gallery, £500 in art supply credit, and a chance to showcase their work at the esteemed Home Grown Members Club in Mayfair.

Yamaha Music London will be inviting customers to visit the store to view each of the artists’ artwork and take part in a competition to win tickets to the monthly artist event at a prestigious London location, and the opportunity to enter a lucky draw to win VIP tickets to the glittering Awards Ceremony in front of a distinguished panel of judges including Yamaha artist, the talented pianist and composer Okiem and curators, critics, and industry experts from both the UK and abroad.
This is going to be the art event you won’t want to miss! Follow Yamaha Music London socials to make sure you are kept in the picture.
