The Yamaha Silent System

Our award-winning Silent technology turns a real acoustic piano into one that can be played silently using headphones with a digital recreation of the sound. This means you can practise any time of day or night without disturbing others, record your performances into the piano's memory AND choose from a range of brilliant sounds including electric pianos, strings and organs. Silent Pianos connect easily to computers and Apple's iOS devices so you can use our latest Apps and studio/composition software, opening up a world of recording and production opportunities.

Featuring sampled sounds from our CFX and CFIIIS Concert Grands

The Silent System is available on all our pianos and, depending on the model, comes in either the SG2 class (using the sound of the CFIIIS Concert Grand) or SH class (which uses the sound of the brand new CFX Concert Grand); each also includes a selection of other sounds.

Connectivity can be via MIDI to computers and other MIDI-equipped instruments, via Apps to connect with your iPad and transfer recordings via USB. There are 2 headphone sockets, so that you can practice with a friend or teacher.
