A Yamaha Pianos & Chappell of Bond Street Promotional Recital
Please join us on Thursday 14th June 2012 at 1pm at our Wardour Street store to hear the pianist Jing Ouyang (RNCM) in recital.
Presented in association with Yamaha pianos, these recitals provide a wonderful opportunity for highly gifted young artists to perform at a superb venue as well as offering an insight into the extraordinary wealth of talent being nurtured in our conservatoires. And there are few better opportunities to hear Yamaha’s stunning handcrafted Premium Pianos played at concert level in the UK.

Jing Ouyang - (Piano): began to play the piano at the age of five. From 2001, she attended a middle school that was attached to XingHai Conservatory of music and she was a pupil of Tiandong Huang. In 2005 she was awarded a full scholarship to attend The Purcell School where she studied with William Fong.
In 2007, Jing joined the Royal Northern College of Music, receiving a full scholarship to study with Carole Presland and her current teacher the Head of Keyboard Graham Scott. Jing has graduated with First Class Honours and she is in her first year of Master of music degree at the same college. Jing is very grateful for the support from Leverhulme Trust Scholarship.
Jing has participated in many prestigious piano Competitions, being awarded the first prize in the Huanan and Xinan Team of 65th International Steinway Competition and Hong Kong (Asia) piano competition in 2001. She also won the Marlow Concerto Competition. The Purcell School Senior Concerto Competition in 2005 and the Ealing concerto competition in 2006.
She has given concerts in China, England and Germany, in venues such as the Duke’s Hall at the Royal Academy of Music, Wigmore Hall, Turner Sims Hall, which were successful and received favourable comments. She has performed concertos with The Purcell School Symphony Orchestra, the Ealing Symphony Orchestra and the Southampton Youth Orchestra.
She has participated in master classes with professors, such as Dmitri Bashkirov, Paul Badura-Skoda, Pierie Reach, Boris Berman, Nelson Goerner, Alexander Melnikov, Peter Hill, Jerome Lowenthal, Tamas Ungar, Imogen Cooper, and Michel Beroff.
This performance is free of charge and will take place in the Recital Room of Yamaha Artist Services Europe (London), situated within the historic Piano Hall at Chappell of Bond Street’s West End store.
Final admittance to each recital is 12.55pm.
