Lunchtime Concert: Mizuki Komori Piano Recital at Chappell on Thursday 6th October 2011

Please join us for the first concert in our Autumn 2011 series of Lunchtime Music at our Wardour Street store on Thursday October 6th at 1pm where we feature the pianist Mizuki Komori, currently studying at the Royal College of Music.
Presented in association with Yamaha pianos, these recitals provide a wonderful opportunity for highly gifted young artists to perform at a superb venue as well as offering an insight into the extraordinary wealth of talent being nurtured in our conservatoires. And there are few better opportunities to hear Yamaha’s stunning handcrafted Premium Pianos played at concert level in the UK.

The Artist:
Mizuki Komori - (Piano): was born in Kagoshima, Japan. She started to play the piano at the age of three with Michiko Yamaji with whom she also began studying composition. She graduated from the Tokyo College of Music where she studied with Keiko Higuchi, Choi Insu, and MakikoTakeda-Herms.
She has participated in the 27th Kirishima International Music Festival and studied with Dang Thai Son. In 2002, ’03and 04, she won the South Japan Music Competition and she is also laureate of competitions such as the Chopin Piano Competition in ASIA 2008, and the Young Musicians concert, 2009.
In 2010, Mizuki was selected to perform Bartok’s Sonata for Two Pianos and Percussion in the Royal College of Music’s Rising Stars concert series at Cadogan Hall.
Mizuki recently completed a Master of Performance degree at the RCM. She now continues her studies there on the Artist Diploma course under the tutelage of Dina Parakhinaand the harpsichord with Robert Woolley.
This performance is free of charge and will take place in the Recital Room of Yamaha Artist Services Europe (London), situated within the historic Piano Hall at Chappell of Bond Street’s West End store. 
Final admittance to each recital is 12.55pm.
