Sound Changes Everything
Often, the trajectory of a band, a brand, a business, or a career can be distilled down to a single pivotal moment that changed everything. When these moments arrive it’s imperative to ensure that the audience is experiencing the full range of an artist’s or speaker’s expression and the sheer passion of their performance. The CXR mk3 Series are the passive models of Yamaha’s updated DXR mk3 Series loudspeakers, contributing to the legacy of power and premium sound established by one of Yamaha’s most celebrated loudspeaker lineups. The series sees a significant improvement in acoustic performance, speaker design, and flexibility, making it equally at home in portable applications or fixed installations. Equipped with Yamaha’s own high-durability LF/HF speaker units, a lightweight, high-performance molded enclosure, and an updated horn and port design that enhances high-frequency directivity and optimizes low-frequency response, the CXR mk3 Series will empower users with the capability and confidence they need for those crucial moments when sound makes all the difference in the world.
Yamaha Proprietary High-Durability LF/HF Speaker Units
All DXR/CXR mk3 loudspeakers are equipped with Yamaha’s own high-durability, custom LF/HF speaker units. The LF unit ensures highly symmetrical front-rear movement for linear bass reproduction, while the HF unit features a polyimide diaphragm that eliminates audible distortion while providing exceptional durability—thus achieving both superior acoustic performance and outstanding reliability.
Enhanced High-Frequency Directivity and Optimized Low-Frequency Response
The large-diameter horn secures directivity control across a wide frequency range. Optimized port positioning also reduces standing wave effects, resulting in smoother and more accurate low-frequency response.
Lightweight, High-Performance Molded Enclosure
Utilizing a lightweight, high-strength, form-injection molded enclosure, the design achieves both weight reduction and attenuation of cabinet resonance that can result in bass loss. The ergonomically designed enclosure offers not only aesthetic appeal but also outstanding usability.
Intelligent processing to maximize system performance
When used in combination with Yamaha PX* and PC-D Series amplifiers or other compatible signal processors, CXR mk3 Series loudspeakers can take full advantage of dedicated speaker processor tuning settings. (*Supported firmware is Ver 1.66 or later.)
Symmetrical design
The design supports mirror placement for all models when floor-mounted, allowing symmetrical HF positioning for precise stage monitoring.
Dual-Angle Pole Socket
All DXR/CXR mk3 series models features pole mount sockets with both horizontal (0°) and 7° down-angle positions, enabling focused coverage for clearer sound delivery to the audience.
Rubber-Coated Handles
Handles are fitted with rubber surfaces for improved grip and reduced heat impact, greatly enhancing comfort during transport and setup.
Optional U-Bracket
Optional U-brackets are available for fixed installations, supporting both vertical and horizontal mounting. Compatible with K&M wall/ceiling brackets for flexible installation.
Multi-Function Speaker Covers
Optional speaker covers are available for all models, protecting speakers from scratches, dust, and dirt during transport and storage, as well as from unexpected weather during outdoor performances.
Eyebolt Rigging Points
Rigging points compatible with commercial eyebolts allow flexible installation using wires and shackles.
