The Surfliner Deluxe introduces several significant upgrades, starting with Guild’s first-ever Roasted Maple Neck. This process provides a dark, aged appearance while enhancing stiffness and stability. Complemented by a bound Rosewood fingerboard and striking block inlays, the satin-finished C-shaped, 25.5" scale neck ensures a fast, smooth playing experience. The lightweight Poplar solid body is finished in a high-gloss metallic sheen with a matching headstock, available in a variety of eye-catching colours.
Versatile HSS Tonal Palette
The HSS pickup configuration offers a rich and versatile sonic spectrum. At the bridge, the Guild HB-2 Humbucker utilizes Alnico II magnets to deliver the warm, rich tone reminiscent of vintage Guild humbuckers. This is perfectly balanced by the chiming, articulate single-coil sounds of the two DeArmond Aerosonic pickups in the middle and neck positions. Tonal switching is intuitive and quick via a classic 5-way blade switch, providing immediate access to both rhythm and solo voices.
New Floating Vibrato System
Expand your expressive range with the newly developed Guild Floating Vibrato Tailpiece (GFVT). Designed specifically for the Surfliner Deluxe, the GFVT enables a broad spectrum of vibrato effects, from subtle flutters to deep, atmospheric swells. Featuring an embossed "G" for classic Guild style, the tailpiece is equipped with a nylon insert and an easily accessible tension screw, giving the player ultimate control over bar tension and feel.
